Mills James Producer’s Creative Work Showcased

COLUMBUS, Ohio (06/08/09) — Mills James producers Johnny Jackson and Noell Wolfgram Evans are no strangers to the spotlight. Their creative work is making its way around the world and impressing audience member after audience member.

AIDAN 5 in Cannes

Johnny Jackson recently returned from the Cannes Film Festival, where he spent time promoting his short, AIDAN 5, and its upcoming Web series. He was able to network with distributors and other filmmakers, many of which showed a strong interest in AIDAN 5. The film was screened twice, and was also available to view in miniature movie booths on demand. While the trip was short — Johnny spent 34 hours in transit and just 24 hours in France — the overall experience was well worth it.

“It was a great trip as far as getting in contact with other filmmakers and seeing what they are currently doing and getting excited about,” said Johnny. “I found lots of fan support for AIDAN 5. The coolest part upon my return was noticing the film is listed in the 2009 Cannes film registry book which they gave me along with my artist badge for the festival.”

Thurber Treat Writing Contest

After receiving the 2002 Thurber Treat Award for Humor Writing, Noell Wolfgram Evans is back as a 2009 Thurber Treat Award for Writing recipient for his essay entitled The New Olden Times.

Wolfgram Evans is a playwright who has had productions in New York City, Chicago, Columbus, Louisville and Palm Springs. This summer, his latest plays will be seen on stages in Canton and Cleveland. In addition, he is the Theatre Editor for Umbrella Publishing and an advisor for Group Creativity Improv Projects based in New York City.

This year’s winners will be featured at the 2009 Thurber Treat Picnic, taking place Wednesday, June 10 at 6:15 p.m. on the side lawn of the Thurber House located at 77 Jefferson Ave. in Columbus.
