COLUMBUS, Ohio (8/2/10) – Mills James won five Emmy® Awards at the 46th Annual Emmy Awards ceremony sponsored by the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) on Saturday, July 31.

Continuing to add to its collection, The Piano Guy public television series received Emmys in two categories. Accepting for Informational/Instructional Program were the show’s producer, R J Cavallaro; executive producers, Ken Mills and Scott Houston; and director, Bruce Ramsey. Guest pianist Dave Powers took home an Emmy in the Performer category for Powerhouse, a segment from The Piano Guy in which he accompanies himself with the help of Mills James’ visual effects team. The Cartoonist: Jeff Smith, BONE and the Changing Face of Comics, the newest documentary from Mills James, earned recognition in the Documentary – Cultural/Topical category. Receiving awards were the film’s executive producer/writer/director, Ken Mills; co-producers, Marty Fuller and Mike Meyer; and associate producer R J Cavallaro. The newly revamped Cash Explosion, the Ohio Lottery’s weekly television gameshow, earned an award in the Set Design category. Mills James chief engineer Dave King and set designer/fabricator Dean Gardner both accepted awards. The show recently underwent upgrades to now broadcast in high definition, as well as introduce a brand new gameboard and set design. Long-time Mills James director/producer/editor Bruce Ramsey received an Emmy in the Director – Post-Production category for his work on The Piano Guy and Cash Explosion.
