Media Designer

Department: Video & Interactive

Mills James is seeking freelance and part-time media designers for Web & Interactive services. The Media Designer is a multi-disciplinary position, requiring the ability to implement the creative vision for a variety of interactive multimedia projects. Responsibilities may include creating or directing the following: definition of client/project needs, information architecture, content organization, interface design, graphic design and editorial direction.

Skills/Qualifications/Capabilities

• Bachelor’s degree required
• A credible portfolio of electronic production art that demonstrates a high command of design disciplines and production technique
• Strong verbal and visual communication skills
• Broad, general knowledge of electronic media creative concepts
• Ability to originate, develop and communicate ideas and concepts
• Ability to ask questions to obtain information necessary for creative development
• Ability to organize and manage information
• Must have substantial PC/Mac experience and familiarity with a variety of high-end professional design tools, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash and other visual communications software tools
• Ability to build HTML and CSS from created design comps
